So someone has decided my culinary talents need to be put to the test. To be more specific, I've been challenged, no, DARED, to cook a meal that will seduce...
I took that to mean an aphrodisiac extravaganza. My inner Fauxmestic Goddess went into overdrive and I started thinking, creamy quail egg cornets topped with caviar, sea urchin ravioli with sea urchin jelly, caramelized olives, amaretto-flavored foam, chocolate with black sesame sauce. All of which, by the way, have floated in and out of the tapas-degustation menu at El Bulli at one point or another.
What about lobsters baked in banana leaves? Or grilled lacquered sole and caramelized apple millefeuille for dessert? That's so Spoon, and much as I love Alain Ducasse, it's too much work, especially since my trusted yaya is no longer around to do the advanced chopping, grating and julienning.
Hmmm, wait a minute! I think it should be the other way around. I'm the one who needs to be seduced!
